Following yesterday’s rehearsals of The Sleeping Beauty and The Dream at the Tokyo Ballet studios (above), preparations are well underway for the the first Tokyo performance on Tuesday 17 May at U-Port Hall. This particular performance will also help to raise money for the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami relief fund.

During breaks between rehearsals, guest Principals Miyako Yoshida and Tamara Rojo, as well as Company Principals, signed photographs to be sold in the theatre’s foyer on Tuesday night (see earlier post for photos). Birmingham Royal Ballet’s dancers are eager to help raise as much money as they can for the fund and have volunteered to meet members of the audience, sign photographs and collect money in the front of house areas before the show, during the intervals and after the show.
