have recently run a feature on Birmingham Royal Ballet’s touring activity. The extensive article includes contributions from various members of the Company, including Company Manager (and regular tourblog contributor) Paul Grist, Director David Bintley and Dancers Momoko Hirata and Céline Gittens.

In the piece, Momoko Hirata talks about some of the trials of travel:

‘Some people don’t really like going on tour,’ she explains, ‘because we have to leave behind the gym and all the facilities we have at home, and the exercise regime is very different. But as long as there’s a physiotherapist on tour with us, I’m okay. International trips are harder because it’s really difficult to pass the time, especially on a long flight. I hate having to sit still!’
